Bessie "Vasiliki" Fotineas  of Highland, Michigan. Born February 18, 1934 in Megalopoli, Greece; passed away December 7, 2021 at the age of 87. Daughter of the late Panagiotis and Theofani Karakasili; wife of the late Frank Fotineas; mother of Philip Fotineas, Christine “Tina” Fotineas and George Fotineas; sister of Sofia, Athanasia and the late: Elpeniki, Voula, George and Mary. Bessie worked as a seamstress and was a long time member of St. George Greek Orthodox Church. Her true passion in life was gardening and taking pride in the beautiful flowers in her yard for all to see. This goes without saying - she was the best mother to her children. Philip, Tina and George were her pride and joy. She loved and cared for her late husband Frank till the day he passed. Truly a woman who touched many hearts and will never be forgotten. The family will receive friends 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 14, 2021 at St. George Greek Orthodox Church, Bloomfield Hills. Funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Fr. Nick Lionas officiating. Interment to follow at Ottawa Park Cemetery, Independence Twp. Funeral luncheon at St. George Greek Orthodox Church following the service at Ottawa Park. The family will receive friends 3 - 8 p.m. Monday, December 13, 2021 at Donelson, Johns and Evans Funeral Home, Waterford. Trisagion Monday 7 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to St. George Greek Orthodox Church or Hospice of Michigan.
