Bobbie Gene Hamm  died peacefully in his sleep on Dream Cruise Saturday, August 18, 2018 at the Beaumont Inpatient Hospice facility in Royal Oak, Michigan. Bobbie was born in Rector, Arkansas. At the age of 8, he moved to Pontiac, Michigan with his parents, Floy and Robert Hamm. It was in Pontiac, at the First General Baptist Church, that Bobbie met the love of his life, Mary (Adams). Bobbie and Mary were Married in March, 1960 and enjoyed over 53 years of happiness together until Mary preceded him in death in 2013. Together they raised 2 children, David and Kimberly, of whom they were so proud. They loved their 3 grandchildren, Kirk, Kyle and Jillian, and their many nieces, nephews and other family members. Bobbie will be missed for his sense of humor and for always having a story to tell In his younger days, he enjoyed manning the grill at family parties, playing games, gardening, bowling and building custom cars. Bobbie ALWAYS LOVED cars, from the time he was a little boy. Classic cars, muscle cars, modern cars-but his greatest love was for “Street Rods”. Bobbie hand-built several custom, show quality vehicles from the 1930's.40's and 50's (“Street Rods”) during his life. And he cheerfully shared his love of cars with his dear friends and family. Bobbie had the coolest car garage in town, with all the equipment and tools anyone could ever need. Bobbie loved hanging out in the garage by himself and with his buddies- it was his haven where he could design, customize, build, paint and polish his cars.
