Madeline Rose Erwin  of Auburn Hills. In mid afternoon of April 18, 2018, Madeline, age 98, completed her journey to her heavenly home. She was a very special and greatly loved woman. Preceded in death by her parents Walter and Rosalind Mack; husband William Henry Erwin in 1987 and her sister Dorothy Chapman (the late Bill). Madeline was the mother of six children: Debby Jokisch (Paul), Dorothy R. Sanders (Jim), Madeline K. Stewart (Darrell), David M. Erwin (Elayna), Mary I. Newman (Dan) and Robert C. Erwin. Grandmother of 31; great-grandmother of 43 and great-great-grandmother of 2 with more on the way this year; also survived by three nephews. Beside being a benevolent example to all her offspring and so many others she was an active member of The Apostolic Church of Auburn Hills for 74 years, where she served as a Sunday School Teacher and local and national Missionary Auxiliary Sisters leader. She was also a volunteer at the Auburn Hills Senior Center. Madeline won Auburn Hills beautification awards for many years running. She was an avid gardener and still found time to be an example of a life of which the Lord would be proud and grateful regarding her efforts in spreading His living word. Late in life Madeline became a resident of the Meadows, a senior living community in Auburn Hills, where she gained a huge number of friends who will miss her physical presence, while having enjoyed her empathy, godliness and emotional support over the years. A Celebration of Madeline‚Äôs Life will be held Sunday, April 22, 2018, 7:00 p.m. at The Apostolic Church, Auburn Hills. Bishop William D. Parent and Pastor Gary Hunley officiating. Interment at Christian Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church Sunday 2-4 and 5-7 p.m.
