Pastor Shane Jenkinson was a man of many gifts and talents. From singing and poetry, to preaching, teaching, and mentoring youth, everything Pastor Shane did was done in the spirit of excellence. A quick word of encouragement, a clever story, or a song were never far from his lips. Having grown up in The Apostolic Church of both Pontiac and Auburn Hills, Pastor Shane had the honor of singing in the award winning Joyful Sounds Choir, Called and Chosen Youth Choir, and was the lead singer on several successful recording projects. He had a distinctive tonal quality to his voice that warmed your heart and lifted your spirit. Family and friends are grateful to have captured his voice for enjoyment by future generations.

Pastor Shane’s ministerial ordination came in the fall of 2014, and he was installed as the Associate Pastor at Turning Point Apostolic Church in 2015 after having served as Turning Point’s Youth Pastor beginning in 2012. The lives he impacted greatly expanded as Pastor Shane created a hugely successful “Angel Tag” ministry that spread throughout the Michigan District, the East Coast, and the Nation of Germany. To some it may have been a simple key fob, but when Pastor Shane delivered his message, all were convinced of God’s Angelic protection over us all. From leading worship, preaching and teaching, and mentoring youth, Pastor Shane’s contributions to Turning Point will outlive him for generations to come.

His generous spirit could be counted on to help in any way at virtually any time. As a recipient of the prestigious “Deputy of the Year” Award, Pastor Shane was an inspiration on the job as well. Serving the Oakland County’s Sheriff’s Department for over 19 years with distinction and honor. He was a true credit to his profession, and will be greatly missed by the department.

From Pastor Shane’s soft-spoken demeanor, hilarious sense of humor, and warm-hearted love for his family and friends, the legacy he leaves behind will undoubtedly be carried out by his nieces, nephews, young ministers, youth, and most importantly, his two wonderful sons of whom he was extremely proud and thankful.

Our prayers will be with the love of Pastor Shane’s life, Kristina his wife of nearly 22 years, who gave birth to two wonderful boys, Landon (14) and Noah (11). There will never be another to fill Shane’s shoes. He will be sorely missed, and his memory cherished by all who were blessed to have known him and been blessed by his tremendous gifts and talents.
