Clare C. McVety  of Auburn Hills; April 20, 2017; age 89; born May 31, 1927. Son of the late John and Lucy McVety; father of Clare C. McVety, Jr. (Linda), Adelia R. Holland (Harvy), Joseph R. McVety (Melodie) and Jason D. McVety (Heather); grandfather of Jennifer Warman (Mark), Jeremy McVety (Charlene), Jonathan Holland (Jennifer), Sarah Hogan (Stephan), Joseph McVety II (Emily), Joshua McVety (Courtney), Katelyn McVety and Raigan Mcvety; great-grandfather of Alexa Warman, Kylee McVety, Isabelle McVety, Brady Warman, Lillian Holland, Julian Holland and Stetson McVety; brother of William McVety, Allen McVety (Mary), Vernon McVety (Mattie) and the late: Robert McVety (the late Zona), Alice Bailey (the late John), Jean Davis (the late Junior) and Donald McVety (Geraldine); also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and close friends. Clare was a veteran of the United States Army and served in a MASH unit during the Korean War. He was a charter employee of Oakland University where he worked as a locksmith and supervisor of building maintenance and was given an award as employee of the year. Clare was a faithful member of the Apostolic Church for 65 years. He served the church in many capacities including Sunday School Superintendent. A Celebration of Clare’s Life will be held 7:00 p.m. Sunday, April 23, 2017, at The Apostolic Church, 3655 N. Squirrel Rd., Auburn Hills. Bishop William D. Parent and Pastor Gary Hunley officiating. The family will receive friends at the church Sunday, 5-7 p.m. Interment at White Chapel Memorial Cemetery, 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 24, 2017. Memorial contributions may be made to The Apostolic Church Foreign Missions.
