Thomas Anthony Stachler   86, died Tuesday, November 29, 2016 at St. Joseph Mercy Livingston Hospital in Howell, Michigan.

He leaves his wife of 64 years, Geraldine (Novotney) Stachler; his Son Tom Stachler and his wife Vanda; his daughter Sharon (Stachler) Behringer and husband Jim Behringer; his son Greg Stachler and his wife Linda; his son Jeff Stachler and his wife Dawn; his 6 grandchildren Ryan Behringer and his wife Lauren, Jessica (Stachler) Kreis and her husband Nathan Kreis; Logan Stachler; Cassandra (Stachler) Kiernan and her husband Sean Kiernan; Brianna Stachler and Tyler Stachler, and 4 great-grandchildren Elyza, Beckett, Nolan and Zoe.

Born and raised in Dayton, Ohio the son of Victor and Roma Stachler.

After graduating from Saint Michael Catholic High School Tom joined the Air Force as a Radar Technician and was honorably discharged as a Staff Sergeant on January 9, 1955.

He met his wife Geraldine Novotney at a school Christmas Play and were married in 1952.

After serving in the Air Force, he was employed in many roles relating to the Automotive Industry. Some of his positions were Sales Person, Sales Manager and eventual General Motors Dealer. He also was the owner of Stachler R.V. Sales and Stachler Chevrolet Oldsmobile.

Tom had a passion for golf that started when he was 8 years old and continued over 70 years. Tom was rewarded with 3 hole-in-one’s during his many rounds of golf. Tom also enjoyed camping with his family, hunting, boating, archery and enjoying time on many lakes around Michigan. Tom and his family also enjoyed many hours of off-roading with dune buggies, motorcycles and snowmobiles.

In retirement Tom & Geri enjoyed many winters in Florida enjoying friends and golfing. They also have been active members in their condo association, enjoying golfing, bus trips and Pinochle clubs.

One of the most exciting times in Tom’s life was the birth of his 6 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren, this brought great joy to him.

Tom also served on the Handy Township zoning Board and was an active member of the Fowlerville Rotarian Club.

Visitation: Sunday, December 4, 2016 from 2-6 p.m. at Donelson, Johns and Evans Funeral Home, Waterford.

Funeral Service: Monday, December 5, 2016 Funeral Mass at St. Perpetua Catholic Church 10:30 a.m. Thomas will be in state from 10 a.m. until time of service
