Thomas C. Bowers  Of Auburn Hills; October 4, 2016 age 65; born May 10, 1951.
“And in the end, it’s not the years in your life that count, but the life in your years”. Tom was a life member of the Veteran Motor Car Club of America, Antique Automobile Club of America, Model T Ford Club International, and also a member of the Horseless Carriage Club of America, Curve Dash Oldsmobile Club and the Casual T’s chapter. Tom had the privilege of owning , driving and touring antique cars around Michigan and the United States. In 1984 he co-drove a 1909 Model T Ford cross country, over 3,500 miles.Tom participated in the following celebrations- Ford’s 75th and 100th, Oldsmobile’s 100th, Buick’s 100th, Maxwell’s 100th, General Motors Centennial, American Automobile Centennial, and the Indy 500 75th and 100th. Tom was a big Indy 500 race fan, having season tickets to the race and did not miss a race in over 40 years. He met several drivers including Mario Andretti, Sam Hornish, Sarah Fisher and more. His favorite places were the Indianapolis Motor Speedway in May, Hershey Pa in October and the Henry Ford Museum and Greenfield Village. Tom retired from the Bloomfield Hills School District as a Safety/Security Technician after 25 years of service. He is survived by his brothers James of West Bloomfield, Peter (Claudia) of Milford, nephews Adam (Sarah) and Eric along with many cousins and friends. A Celebration of Tom’s life will be held at
2 p.m. Sunday, October 9, 2016 at Donelson Johns and Evans funeral home, Waterford. The family will receive friends Saturday 6-9 p.m. Interment Monday, October 10, 2016,
